Useful Linux (Ubuntu) commands

I will collect some of the most useful Ubuntu terminal commands here, as I keep forgetting them…

  • Reconfigure timezone, and automatically set time:

  • Install OpenSSH server:

  • Show IP addresses of the network cards

  • Connect to ssh on Ubuntu:

  • Show graphics driver info

  • Fix – Unable to mount unclean NTFS disk after not correct shutdown of Windows.


  • Check GPU sensor temps in Terminal

  • Force booting in Terminal

  • Show running kernel version

  • Freeze kernel version

  • Save changes and update/rebuild grub.
